Straight cash homie. Two WNBA teams are squaring off on Tuesday. Players on the winning team get a little over 30 grand each. Losers 10 grand each. It is the commissioners cup. It’s the championship game. The Liberty are facing the Lynx, New York, the quote unquote home team, although it won’t be in their regular arena. It’ll be elsewhere in the city. They are five point favorites. 159 and a half. This number’s been up a little bit, been bet up a little bit I should say.

So this is basically the WNBA’s version of the in -season tournament that we saw this year in the NBA. In fact, they created the idea. This is year four, I want to say, of this in -season tournament. And we all know it from the NBA because it had more popularity, but certainly these commissioners cup standing. So the two teams that have got here have won the most games and qualified all that good stuff. So Minnesota, nine and one of their last 10 games, 13 and three against the spread. Best team ATS this year in the W.

Now New York’s been on a roll itself 15 and three overall eight and 10 against the spread though. But a lot of those non -covers were huge favorites like the other day against the Sparks, their lane 16 win by 10 things like that. So it’s a little different when they have a short number like this. Now they did beat the Aces in Vegas and they’ve, they’ve in the Sun, they beat in Connecticut. They were one and a half point favorites there. So these tight games they’ve also delivered. I’ve been really impressed with how New York’s been playing. One thing to keep in mind though, Courtney VanderSloot’s been out. They’re starting point guard Her mom passed away, so she’s missed some time. I believe she’s coming back for this game.

And I, she might need to come off the bench the rest of the year. They’ve been playing much better with that, you know, different starting lineup. So that could be a tough conversation, but that does affect things a little bit, but I’m going to have to take the links. Not a huge bet, but I lean to the links. They’ve just been so great against the number and I think they moved the ball so well, but I will say the Liberty are loaded.

And if they like their best is better than Lynx best. That’s no question. I just think the Lynx are so well coached, so polished that they’re more likely to complicate things for New York that I don’t think the Liberty defense can do that to the Minnesota offense. They just, Liberty just have more firepower and better stars, but the Lynx fit together perfectly. I love this team. So I would lean to the Lynx plus five. I also lean under, but it’s a really hard game to handicap in terms of, because both these teams are so good. They’re kind of bet on teams right now at this kind of a number, like a short favorite spot for Liberty. I like them or anytime the links are the dog. I like them, but they both look great in Vegas against the aces. So I think this whoever wins will be a worthy winner for sure.
