Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is all but guaranteed to win his first NBA MVP award, as his odds have skyrocketed to -1600 at DraftKings with only three-plus weeks remaining in the regular season.

Three-time MVP Nikola Jokic has +700 odds, while averaging a triple-double this season.

SGA’s odds have mostly fluctuated between -300 and -600 since the All-Star Break but they increased drastically over the past few days while Jokic was slated to miss several games. Plus, the Thunder own the league’s best record and Jokic’s Nuggets are the Western Conference’s third seed and sitting 15 games back.

Gilgeous-Alexander leads the NBA in scoring at 32.8 points, while ranking 14th in assists and second in steals.

Jokic ranks third in scoring (29.1 PPG), third in rebounds (12.8 RPG) and second in assists (10.3 APG). He is averaging a triple-double while also ranking fourth in steals (1.8).

This is a two-horse race, given Giannis Antetokounmpo is the third favorite with 500-to-1 odds.
