The San Jose Sharks had been a bettor’s dream for the first month of the NHL season but they finally ruined parlays and straight wagers of those thinking the gravy train would never end.

The Sharks picked up their first win on Tuesday in their 12th game, defeating the Philadelphia Flyers, 2-1. San Jose was in the neighborhood of +155 on the moneyline after not having odds of less than +200 all season.

The Sharks had started 0-10-1 and only covered the puck line (+1.5) once in those first 11 games. In fact, they allowed 10 goals in each of the previous two games prior to their first victory.

They entered the day as a -190 favorite to finish with the worst record. DraftKings stopped offering odds on their proposition bet to make the playoffs.

The 1943 New York Rangers hold the record for being winless through 15 games.
