Days after having a -2400 favorite, the NBA Defensive Player of the Year market now has essentially two favorites with fluidity amongst the longshots.

Jaren Jackson Jr. has +125 odds at FanDuel, while Evan Mobley has +130 odds. Luguentz Dort (+1500), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (+2000) and Dyson Daniels (+2000) are next.

All this comes after the announcement of Victor Wembanyama, the previous -2400 favorite, will miss the rest of the regular season with deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder.

The sudden injury news completely changed the odds, so now sportsbooks are faced with shaping a market that has no baseline. Usually awards conversations evolve throughout the season but this is a blank canvas with less than two months left.
